The front porch, garage floor, and basement floor concrete is poured and curing. It always amazes me at how perfectly smooth contractors get the concrete. Using a leveling bar to smooth it out helps, but it seems there is a million ways to mess this up.

Basement Is Taking Shape

Our egress window in the photo is a great addition to the space in the basement. Down the road if we finish the basement it helps allow extra sunlight. There is always a feature we will wish we have later, but all in all, we are happy. It is important to really think through all of the features we want.

One thing we want is an open floor plan so ceilings with a vault fill the main living spaces. We like sunlight, so additional windows provide extra sunlight to our home. Honestly, I have a lot more windows! But, it’s easy to get carried away with additions and the expenses can definitely start to add up.
