Everything is set with the builder and the next step is digging the foundation, but the weather is bound to get bad. We couldn’t have predicted that any better even if we were weathermen! We met our building supervisor at our lot to see the stakes that show the perimeter of our house and where the foundation will be.
With color selections and materials chosen, the final piece of the puzzle prior to construction is to have a final meeting with the builder and go over all of the structural changes in the initial contract and give the builder 3.5% to start construction. Read more
After the initial shock of the flooring situation; if any serious upgrades were going to be done, it was definitely going to be for flooring since it spans the entire home design’s open floor plan and is present or visible from every room. Read more
We chose the exterior color scheme at the same time we selected all of the finishes in the interior of our home. That was definitely an important day! The next step in our building process was selecting the interior and exterior finishes for our home. This is a day many people dream about. In fact, I always have! After years of pinning my favorite interiors from Pinterest boards like House Plans and More and other home design companies, I thought it would be a cinch selecting the color scheme and materials for the outside of our home. The initial contract is signed and we put some money down to hold a lot. Our builder has a time frame of how things need to happen. Within the next 30 days, we would need to pick out all of the home’s finishes, both inside and out. Then, an additional 3.5% deposit would need to be given to the builder to get construction started.
