Regarding decor, I've found one issue with having a pet and bare floors/area rugs is you often need to sweep/vacuum a little more, because pet hair will accumulate in corners, under furniture, etc. But it's actually a good thing; if you had full carpeting everywhere think of all the pet hair that would be matted into it. Bare floors with area rugs and a bit more sweeping/vacuuming often means a much cleaner home for you AND your pet! Great tips!
